We are happy to allow your guest to view/participate in most classes. Please follow these procedures:
1. Let your instructor know ahead of time you will be inviting a guest to the class. All guests participating in a class must sign a waiver before class commences.
2. If your guest would like to take pictures or film the class, please let your instructor know so that she can ask the other participants if they have any issues with pictures being taken. Due to FOIP, it is important that we respect individuals rights not to have their picture taken.
3. Please introduce the guest to your instructor so they know who the person watching the class is.
4. Please note that the instructor and / or J'Adore Dance has the right to deny guest entry.
Dance is a wonderful way to exercise due to the many physical, mental, and emotional benefits. In our programs we strive to provide modifications for all fitness and dance levels so all participants can feel successful. However, J'Adore Dance always recommends talking with your doctor before starting any exercise program.
Salsa Babies FAQ
We usually recommend that babies be no younger than 6-8 weeks old before starting the class, just so that they have some neck control. As well, moms should be ready to start exercising again by that time.
There is no upper age limit, and while most babies in the class are under 12 months, it is not uncommon to find older babies as well. The basic guideline is that both mom and baby should be comfortable using a baby carrier for the duration of a 45-minute class. It is an individual decision depending on various factors including fitness level, type of carrier, and size and weight of baby regardless of age. J'Adore Dance offers a free trial class in case you are still uncertain whether the class is suitable for you and your baby.
It is best to come to class prepared to move around. Comfy clothes, running shoes, or if you have them, dance sneakers work well. It is strongly recommended to bring a bottle of water for yourself in addition to any baby items you require.
Because the baby is worn against your body, you can both get a little sweaty by the end of class, so you may wish to bring a change of clothes. J'Adore Dance recommends babies only wear a onesie while in the carrier to keep them cool. Of course you’ll need a baby carrier. Any kind of front or back carrier works well, however, J'Adore Dance recommends a wrap style carrier for the most comfortable experience for you and your baby. A Cozy Baby Happy Mommy representative is usually at the first or second class in a session or you can visit their website to order a wrap prior to class www.cosybabyhappymommy.com.
Yes! Most people who take the class have never danced Salsa before, and many have no dance experience at all. We break the steps down so that anyone can join, and take the class at a progressive rate. The most important thing to keep in mind is that it’s not about perfection, but getting moving, enjoying the music and having fun with your baby!
Salsa Babies classes are designed to accommodate all levels of fitness. We know that some new moms are in excellent shape, whereas others who have had C-sections or more difficult pregnancies may need to ease back into physical activity at their own pace. We teach a basic program and offer adaptations for those looking to increase the intensity.
For the price of one, parents of twins are welcome to bring a spouse, relative or friend to dance with the second baby. If this is not an option, some mothers of twins take turns dancing with one baby while the other either sleeps or looks on in their stroller or baby seat beside the mother. Some moms have also had success dancing with both babies (one on the back and one on the front) and get an excellent workout!
No problem! Salsa Babies offers a totally baby-friendly environment, so fussing, crying, and spitting up, among other things, are all to be expected. Most of our instructors are moms themselves and many even teach with their own babies, so they’ve been in your shoes.
Salsa Babies encourages breast-feeding and strives to create a comfortable and relaxed environment in this regard. Babies’ needs come first, so please feel free to take a break and pull up a chair if your baby needs to feed before, during, or after class. Instructors will direct you to a diaper changing area for your particular class. If your baby is asleep when you arrive, you can join in the class while baby sleeps in his or her seat off to the side, and then pick up baby when he or she awakens. Rest assured that excessive fussiness is rarely a problem. The rhythm and movement of the class combined with being held close to their mom, keeps most babies content and often times asleep throughout the class.
J'Adore Dance understands that it is not always possible to get out the door on time with a new baby, and we’ve all had those rough nights and last-minute trips to the doctor. Therefore, we offer three (3) make-up class per session to accommodate for missed classes. Three classes can be used during session on another day or another location. One make up class can be bumped forward to a subsequent session. We aim to be flexible, so please speak with your contact us if you have any questions.
Salsa Tots FAQ
Salsa Tots is a dance program for the entire family where we promote getting active as a family. Salsa Tots uses both creative movement and Latin dance influences to create a program both tots and parents can enjoy.
We strive to make the class very positive and action packed as it is many children's first experience in a dance program. Some activities are more structured while others are more free, but we always try to promote an open classroom format allowing your child to experience the program in their own way. We never force a child to participate as we believe they will engage in their own time, when they are ready.
We sing, dance, play, and move in this high energy, tropical class all while exploring dance concepts and rhythm. The dance concepts explored in class are common to all forms of dance, as well as sports and gymnastics, and increase your child's movement vocabulary and development. We also use instruments, scarves, and other props to help us explore. The Latin culture is explored in this class by exposing participants to the music, basic steps, language and stories.
Yes! Your baby can attend Salsa Tots classes for free (as long as they do not turn 1 years old during the first 4 weeks of the program). Many parents bring both their baby and toddler to the class. Babies can either stay in the car seat off to the side or parents can wear them in a carrier (similar to Salsa Babies) so you are free to participate in class with your older child.
Yes! Our price allows you to bring up to 2 siblings between the ages of 1-5. Each additional child after this is $75. Because of our open classroom environment it is an ideal program for moms with more then one toddler!
Please dress in clothing suitable for movement (sweats, workout, yoga, or dance attire). We ask for bare feet in the studio, however if you are uncomfortable with this you can wear a soft soled dance slipper or socks with gripper bottoms.
We understand that each child's experience will differ in our program and invite you to come to a free trial class to decide if our program is right for you. Please check our up coming events for listings of free classes or contact us for more details.
If the session you are registered in is 8 weeks or longer in length then you may submit your receipt to the government for tax credit purposes.

The movements comes from the hips and use of the core providing an ideal way to tone and strengthen the midsection while keeping your heart rate at a ideal level for burning calories.

Dance, movement, music, learning, and FUN! The Intellidance program was designed to give babies, children and parents the opportunity to explore the joys of dance and movement in a safe, fun, non-competitive environment.
Rather then focus on learning specific dance styles or steps the Intellidance programs focus on movement concepts that are common to all styles of dance as well as sports and gymnastics. Our goal is to allow you and your child the opportunity to play and learn through dance and movement activities that are developmentally appropriate and allow for individual creativity and imagination!
Our class begins with a fun warm up called the Brain Dance. Through fun rhymes and songs, babies, children and parents move through the 8 fundamental movement patterns that integrate the brain and body connection, critical not just for success in our dance class but also for early neural development and future learning.
Next we introduce a weekly movement concept that we explore through a variety of imaginative dance activities that children and parents can participate in together. We might explore the concept of size by dancing like Giants and Elves or learn about shapes by playing Sculptors and Clay.
Each week we will spend a section of the class developing movement and dance skills and creating simple movement sequences in conjunction with the dance concepts. Simple folk dances, movement stories, props, and obstacle courses make learning new steps and skills fun and allow parents and children to work together creatively!
A different sensory experience will be presented each week. This can include the use of instruments, scarves, parachutes, balls, hoops, magic carpets, and much much more! Babies and young children love exploring with our props and parents learn fun ways to encourage active play with simple toys.
We end each week with a Free Dance. This allows your movers and shakers to bust out their best dance steps while experiencing music from a wide variety of genres and styles.
